I am training my siberian husky to an invisible fence?

I am training my husky to an invisible fence. He didn't really seem to notice the %26quot;signal only%26quot; phase of the training, but when he got his first shock, he changed his attitude completely. My problem now is that I'm supposed to be walking him in and out of the %26quot;danger zone%26quot; beyond the flags several times a day, then leading him back to the safety of the yard and playing with him. Only since he got a couple of corrections, he won't play my game anymore. When I leash him and head for the flags, he sits down and looks at me like I'm crazy. We have only had the fence installed for 3 days, and the training is supposed to last two weeks. How do I complete the training and make sure he's safe to go untied?I am training my siberian husky to an invisible fence?
I own a company that installs underground fencing. Once the dog has received a correction you may move on to the next phase. Just walking him around the yard in the safe zone so he will be comfortable. Once in a while walk him up to a flag, when he hears the tone gently yank the lead and say get back or whatever you tell him to verbally be in control (pack leader). The fences work great but training training training is the key.

Best of Luck %26amp; enjoy the peace of mind!!I am training my siberian husky to an invisible fence?
Well he understands that if he goes past the flags he's gonna get shocked.. training is over. Just stay outside with him for a while.I am training my siberian husky to an invisible fence?
Invisible fence? You mean there is no fence at all only flags and he has a shock collar? I'm thinking that. First of all huskies are never to be trusted in areas that have no fences. They have selective hearing. There can come this time that they will chase something and not listen to you they can run for miles and never come back or get into an accident. Huskies need a 6 ft tall fence and you need to have in mind that they can also dig.

He might seem like this now but your dog will try to explore and if you are not looking and he notices that he doesn't get shocked then he can run outside and you can lose him. Huskies are never to be trusted off leash on a non fenced property.

When we trained our dog to our electric fence, here is how it went: We put up the flags. When we shocked him the first time, he jumped about five feet in the air, rushed inside, and stayed there for the rest of the day. From then on, he refused to go near the spot where he'd been shocked. When he found out that it shocked him everywhere, he kept to the middle of the yard a lot. If your dog won't go near the fence, that's great! Take him outside, letting him drag his leash. Play with him, but stay near him. If he goes toward the fence, let him. He'll get shocked and return to the middle of the yard. Praise and play. Always, always watch him when he's outside for the first two weeks, until he's not approaching the flags at all. At that point, he should be good to go. Keep an eye on him through the window.

Invisible fence is not recommended for Siberians. At this stage he is cautious, once he has learned there is a world outside the %26quot;fence%26quot; , he is likely to discover if you run through the fence quickly, the shock is short and worth the goal. We see Siberians in rescue all the time that learned invisible fence is not that scary especially when there is a cat or squirrel on the other side.

You can probably tempt him to keep going with a high value treat when he is on leash but remember invisible fence do not work for all dogs. It looks good right now, but that can change fast especially once he learns there are times it is safe to cross the fence.

Also invisibe fences may restrain some dogs, but they don't protect at all nor once a dog escapes are they likely to recross the shock zone to return home.
