How much does it cost to get new shocks on a 2005 Dodge Neon?

Also, if anyone could tell me how much an oil change, and engine check/ tune up would cost.

Is anyone aware of any problems that are common in Neons that I need to be prepared for?

For good quality shocks/struts, about $500. Oil change, between $25-$45 depending on type of oil and filter used. Tune up, around $65.How much does it cost to get new shocks on a 2005 Dodge Neon?
Not a dime. Your car doesn't have shocks. All four corners of the car has struts which cost considerably more than plain old shocks. The parts alone will cost close to $250.00. If you have to hire a new car dealer or private mechanic to install them for you that will be another $200.00How much does it cost to get new shocks on a 2005 Dodge Neon?
ok i work at a shop and this would be an accurate estimate. 443-596 dollars for both rear strut replacement. that's 184-266 dollars in parts and 259-330 dollars in labor. Both of the front strut/shock absorber replacement would be 353-454 dollars. that's 202-262 dollars in parts and 151-192 dollars in labor. i recommend that struts be replaced in pairs and, a replacement of the upper strut bearing/bushings. also a full inspection of the front and rear steering and suspension assembly should be performed to identify any potential safety concerns. whenever a shock or strut replacement is done, a 4-wheel alignment must be done to ensure even tire wear. also depending on how hard you or any previous driver has driven this car, a lower ball joint replacement might be needed which there are only two located in the front. this would run you at about 274-404 dollars.that's 66-138 dollars in parts and 208-266 dollars in labor. also a 4-wheel alignment would cost 72-92 dollars.that's all labor. an oil change could cost anywhere from 27-45 dollars.that's 27-45 dollars parts. the low prices are what an independently owned shop would charge and the high prices are what a dealer would charge. its is hard to say what an %26quot;engine tune up%26quot; would include without engine mileage. however something that wears out on cars often is the timing belt which is very important. the replacement of this would cost anywhere from 283-387 dollars. that's 75-121 dollars in parts and 208-266 dollars in labor. they really have a life spand of six years though. hope i helped and that i didn't ruin your day.
