If you know how to change them please tell me how to and if i need any special tools to get the job done. How do i put new shocks, front and back, on my 1997 dodge ram 1500 4x4, 5.2 motor?
sway bar is a probable cause for that one, spray wd 40 on that joint and see if it goes away. if it does replace the bushing in it. i have seen a set with grease fittings about 4 months ago.How do i put new shocks, front and back, on my 1997 dodge ram 1500 4x4, 5.2 motor?

Just get a good manual, jack stands, tools and a spring compressor. You can rent the spring compressor, no need to buy them unless you plan to use them frequently, besides they're cheap to rent. How do i put new shocks, front and back, on my 1997 dodge ram 1500 4x4, 5.2 motor?
you do not have shock you have strut 1loosen the front wheel lug nuts then in the engine compartment remove the upper strut to body nut 2raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands and allow the suspension to hang free 3 remove the wheels 4 disconnect the tie rod from the strut 5 loosen the strut to knuckle bolts until are flush with the end of the using a brass hammer drive the bolts which are splined out of the knuckle remove the strut from the vehicle with the strut out the spring on the strut is under considerable pressure requiring that a spring compressor be used to compress the spring and disengage it components do not attempt to disassemble the strut without a compressorHow do i put new shocks, front and back, on my 1997 dodge ram 1500 4x4, 5.2 motor?
