Battered Voter Syndrome?

I recently asked a question in the singles %26amp; dating category using a quote from Wayne Allyn Root's new book, The Conscience of a Libertarian about battered voter syndrome. Take a look at the responses if you want.

People responded to this question exactly like I thought they would and exactly how they should have. They thought the quote was about a battered spouse, but it was actually about battered voters. For decades, our government has gotten bigger and bigger, the national debt has gotten bigger and bigger, and each new presidential candidate says that they are the first step in changing things.

Obviously, they were all lying, because nothing has changed. If they say that they want to raise taxes for the good of the voter, to spread the wealth around, they take our money and pour it into their corporate supporters. If they say that they are going to cut taxes, they do cut taxes, but then turn around and increase government spending which means the tax cuts don't last.

I will leave you with one last quote to think and comment about.

%26quot;Voters who choose the same two flawed choices of Republican or Democrat year after year are starring in Groundhog Day. You make the same choices election after election, yet you keep expecting different results. You fall for the same deceptions, lies, and fraud year after year, yet you're shocked that nothing changes .... If you vote for politicians who offer change without a clear plan for what that change is and how it will be implemented, you are a battered voter.%26quot; (Wayne Allyn Root)Battered Voter Syndrome?
Does it not occur to you that people are making informed choices, and that the successful candidates for office are not the ones that have battered the voters but the ones that have promised to deliver the results they seek.

The size of government is irrelevant as long as it serves the will of the people. Government is too big when and only when the majority thinks it is ill serving their interests and people vote for smaller government advocates. Likewise a government is too small when the majority are unhappy with the services they are getting from their government and vote for candidates that promise to do more.

It seems to me your beef is with the voters who don't vote as you would, not the candidates or the government the people voted for.Battered Voter Syndrome?

Well, our selections are certainly limited, but I'm not going to vote for an independent either unless I believe in them. This election we had to choose between the less of 2 evils, no independents in this election were take seriously, I voted for Perot when he ran.Battered Voter Syndrome?
