I need help on motorcycle shocks?

I am about to purchase a zx6r and the shocks are tuned for a 170lb rider and I weigh about 260. How can I change the shocks so it can support my weight and How much will it cost and what do I need for it.I need help on motorcycle shocks?
tuning the rear shock is not hard....

they are adjustable %26amp; you do not need to buy another one unless the one you have is broken..

you can adjust rebound %26amp; dampening as well as ride height.

first.. thing first..

around the shock is a spring,, %26amp; this is adjustable by shortening or lenghtening the compressed section..Usually by a screw thread or cam %26amp; pins..

the bike shocks should compress about 1 inch when you sit on the bike..( get a mate to measure the bike with you on it %26amp; unladen).

then adjust the spring to suit..

the adjustments of rebound %26amp; dampening are what keeps the tyre on the road %26amp; affects the comfort of the ride.. soft for easy riding harder for sports riding...

have a look at this site It tells you heaps..

HOW TO SET UP SPORTS BIKE SUSPENSION..here

well you can try adjusting them yourself but i doubt that you will be able to tune it very close to your weight. Contact a motorbike suspension tuning shop and they should be able to set it up to your weight, as for the price i think the cheapest i have seen it was about $250(AUD), but other stoes may vary.I need help on motorcycle shocks?
You're better off buying a rear shock that is fitted for your weight. The spring rates vary per size of the rider because if you have the incorrect spring, you will not be able to set the %26quot;SAG%26quot; on the bike and your shock will bottom out every time you hit a bump or pothole and could cause you to drop your bike. The same goes for the front but it's much more critical with the suspension bottoming out. You can have the springs replaced inside the forks. The rear shock price will vary depending on the brand and the front fork springs can be replaced for about $200-$250 US dollars plus the cost of the springs.
