How hard is it to change shocks 1990 ranger?

what kind do you useHow hard is it to change shocks 1990 ranger?
hello, well its verry simple. you first jack one side of the truck up.tack off both bolts, remove the shock, the new will come with a tie on it dont cut the tie until you install it on the truck then cut it.do the same on all sides.the tie keeps the shock pushed together and if you cut it it will expand then you will just have to maybe let the truck down to get it to line up,make sure you tighted the bolts up all the way down and try to get al then the same ,that way they will all be even on all sides..How hard is it to change shocks 1990 ranger?
you should have a set of car stands, a good jack and some basic tools handy, leave your self a couple of hours, chock the wheels and jack up one corner at a time, remove the road wheel and undo the retaining nuts on the shock, the new shock will come preloaded and strapped, place the shock into place and bolt it in, after it is all bolted into place cut or remove the strap, replace the wheel and lower the truck down, move onto next corner, the front shocks will be harder and are usually best done at a mechanics shop, cheers

it's a simple process... a single bolt on each end of the shock holding it in place. you want to jack it up... but not too much... and you really should have two jacks... one to compress the suspension after you take the tire off for easier removal of hte shock... also a jack stand to keep you safe.

go to your local car parts store, they';ll give you the right part. How hard is it to change shocks 1990 ranger?
they are not hard to change. all you got is a bolt at the top and 1 at the bottom. monroe gas matics are good shocks.
