1984 Chevrolet Celebrity Changing Shocks?

Is there a step by step procedure somewhere on how to change the shocks and struts on a 1984 Celebrity. Also what pratfalls one may encounter. Thanks.1984 Chevrolet Celebrity Changing Shocks?
I have a complete manual for that car. I don't imagine you live in CT. I don't have the car anymore. It will be hard to change the struts without air tools and you need a spring compressor. The shocks are not as bad but you still have to cotend with 23 year old nuts and bolts. It will be a serious pain in the butt is all I can tell you. I'll go though the process if you are serious about doing it, but you tell me.1984 Chevrolet Celebrity Changing Shocks?
The back shocks are easy, nothing special required. The front struts are a different story, and require special tools and spring compressors to do it safety. Leave the fronts to a pro.1984 Chevrolet Celebrity Changing Shocks?
Shocks can be a little scary. but don't be afraid. The most important thing to remember about shock is they bit. If it is a McStren strut. the you will need a tool to compress the coil spring. however if it is what i think then no big deal. Most cars have a access hole in the wheel well under the hood. there are three screws you need to gentle take out. %26amp; one bolt under the lower control arm. then the shock should be able to come out from the access hole. To take the coil spring out you must !!!carefully!!! jack up the car on jack stands. Then jack up on the Lower Control Arm. compressing the coil spring as much as possible. Take the steering knuckle off. after loosening the inner bolts of the LCA After you done this, and the knuckle is off VERY GENTLY decompress the coil spring. And replace.

Now to replace the coil spring you must use cation. If it isn't done correctly then it could say hi the hard way. try to keep is strait, okay. I hope this helps you. i know it can be a challenge. !!!Oh. when tighting the castle nuts back don't loosen the nut to make the pin go in. Always tighten it. SAFETY FIRST

But before you try this get another opinion on it. It has been a long time since i done a job like this. I hope this helps you. Have Fun!1984 Chevrolet Celebrity Changing Shocks?
I'll list some tools you'll need before you start.

If you have an Auto Zone near by you can show a credit card and use the necessary tools while you do the job at no charge.

1.You'll need a 30mm deep well socket to remove the large nut at the end of both drive axles.

2. Five ton three finger puller to push the CV shafts out of the wheel bearings.

3 . Pinion removal yoke to press out the lower ball joint.

4. Strut spring compressers (2)

Remove both 30mm nuts with a1/2 wratchet and a piece of pipe for leverage. Loosen both front wheels, raise the car and support it on jackstands behind the front wheels on the sub frame. Remove both front brake calipers and support with wire or rope. Remove the rotors. Remove the nut at the bottom of the lower ball joint. Pop it out with the pitman removal tool. Press the axles out of the wheel bearings with the 5 ton puller. Remove the pinch bolts on the struts. The struts slide out of the spindles with the help of a large hammer on the top of the spindle. Remove the three nuts on top of the struts and they drop out.

The only difficult part of the job is removing the pinch bolts. They are often heavily rusted and corroded making them a pain to drive completely out. If you decide to re-use your coil springs you'll need to compress the old springs and transfer them to the new struts. Be sure the strut bearings are OK at the top of both struts.

The rear shocks are straight forward.
