reach into the tank with a bowl. submerge the bowl under the water and get the bowl under the turtle. lift the bowl out and the turtle will be in it. dump the water and fill it half way back up. compare the temp between the bowl with the turtle and the tank. match the two temps then pick the turtle up out of the bowl and place in the tank. fresh water same temp no shock.How to change my turtles swimming water without shocking her?
Your dad is, well, being a dad LOL She'll be fine. All you have to do is take her and anything else in the tank out. Put her in temporary container of some sort ( a bowl, a dish or whatever. Just so she cant escape on you). Dump the old water out of the tank. Fill it with fresh water as it is. Add a small amount of DAWN dishwashing detergent (This is the mildest detergent out there) and wash it thoroughly. Use the same soapy water to wash her things too. Rinse everything thoroughly. Put all of her things back in place first and when the tank looks the way you want it, add lukewarm water to the same level the old dirty water was and put your little girl back in her home. That's it. No biggie. You're going to have to change her tank like this no less than once a week. Twice wouldnt hurt. Hope this helps.How to change my turtles swimming water without shocking her?
Just make sure that the new water is at about the same temperature as the old. You might want to do partial water changes once you have the water cleaner. That way temperature is not as much of a factor.
